Well that sucks. Some company has bought jornakat.com so I guess even if I did want it back I can’t have it. Hopefully most of my old readers have switched over to this site anyway by now.

We made margaritas last night. It seemed like a good way to use up the cheap tequila someone left at our house a while ago. They were yummy and much better than drinking pop, which I seem to have lost the taste for.

I did my shift at the Open House yesterday. Before I went I was worried that people were going to ask me hard questions that I wouldn’t be able to answer, but actually once I was there I really wished people would ask ANYTHING AT ALL instead of just staring at us. It was awkward. Lesley and I ran a little booth where we had a Geiger-Muller counter and a tripad with two drops of hidden radioactivity that people could try and find.

It wasn’t very busy so instead I just ate all the treats they had got to bribe us into volunteering, and chatted with the second years and teachers, which was good. I finally found out for sure that yes we will be working full time, 5 days a week over the summer.

Well I should get back to work on my essay now. Need to get some more work done before our epic 1+ hour bus ride to my grandmas’ nieces’ cousins’ daughters’ moms’ (ok I exaggerate slightly) house for dinner tonight.

We had a nice Easter dinner with Rosemarie and Rob on Monday night. Rosemarie came over in the afternoon so we could have some sister-time while Scott was at work. Gotta squeeze in as much sister-time before she leaves!! By the way, have I mentioned that she’s going to FIJI FOR A WHOLE YEAR ON EXCHANGE???????!!!! SO jealous, although hopefully Scott and I will be able to visit her at some point so that is pretty exciting. She has started up her own blog so check that out: http://threepiece.wordpress.com/

Anyway back to last Monday.

Rosemarie and I made a tourtiere (French Canadian meat pie). It was actually extremely simple to make, and very tasty. Pie dinners are so tasty.

We also had salad, mashed potatoes, peas and gravvvvvy. Om nom nom.

Rob made us a nice fruity dessert. I liked the strawberry sauce a lot.

We played some Dominion, but that game kind of annoys me. Why are the rules so vague?? I always have this feeling like we are not playing the game correctly. We also played a couple games of cribbage with my new crib board that I found in the mail room. Scott thinks I’m gross for taking it, but I think it’s ok!!!

I had a big midterm yesterday and had a lot of work due this week so I’ve been studying all week. Very boring. We have today off though because BCIT is having an Open House. I have to go in tomorrow for two hours to help out. I plan on getting a big chunk on one of my papers that is due in a couple weeks today, but so far I’ve just been procrastinating. Oops.

I got volunteered to make a poster for the Open House about nuclear medicine heart imaging. I didn’t have a lot of time to spend on it due to midterm, so I just kept it extremely extremely basic. Does the poster explain anything new to you? Scott coloured in the letters for me while watching hockey.

Speaking of hockey, my dream of a Canucks-Senators final is not off to a great start. :/ I will continue to believe it could actually happen though, until one of the teams gets knocked out.

Ok really I should do something productive now. This is a busy busy weekend so I should not be wasting precious time.

I had a bit of a shock the other day when I logged into my online banking and found a $130 credit card charge that we didn’t recognize! I had to call up the bank and get them to cancel my card and start a fraud investigation. :( We also found another $170 charge that hadn’t shown up on my account yet. They bought two textbooks! Is that some kind of credit card scam? I suppose textbooks might be easy to re-sell. Anyway hopefully the issue gets resolved soon and really I’m just grateful that it wasn’t a bigger amount that we might lose. It would suck a lot to not get the money back, but we’ll be ok. I wonder how they got my credit card numbers.

horseshoes, anyone?

It’s been really nice out today and yesterday. Yesterday we went out for an hour walk around the big park near our house, and today we walked down Main Street all the way from 1st Avenue to 33rd Avenue. We stopped at a cafe on the way and Scott got a latte and I got a blueberry mimosa that did not taste like blueberry at all.

Now Scott is out playing Pitch and Putt with Brian, and later Zsofi and Dylan are coming over for homemade pizza and the Canucks game. Fun weekend! I should get back to my anatomy study notes right now though. Adios amigos.

The Current Swell concert the other night ended up being a bit of a bust. Instead of being upbeat like the Youtube videos I listened to, they were downright depressing. They played a whole bunch of slow songs and looked sad. :/ Their last two songs were a bit better but by then it was too late to salvage the show.

The green men made an appearance for unknown reasons.

We liked the opening band better (The Matinees), although we only got to hear their last song.

I tested out a few new settings on the camera. Still learning, obviously.

That night at the Commodore was pretty much the total opposite of the last time we were there, for the Oh Land and Sia concert with Jess and Winnie. Actually turns out that was Sia’s last concert EVER! I have her on Twitter and she’s written a few times now that she does not want to be in the public any more and won’t be touring again. I’m glad we went to that show because it really was a lot of fun and I’m glad I got to see one of my favourite artists live.

Scott and I don’t have anything planned for this long weekend, except watching lots of movies and hanging out with Rosemarie on Monday when she gets back from her trip. I have to study for anatomy, but I don’t have a lot of other homework to do, which is nice. My allergies are back so I’m not feeling super great but I think this afternoon we will go on a walk to get some exercise and also try taking some outdoor pictures with my new camera.
