I’m still alive and happy. The last week was pretty amazing, lots of beaches, aqua coloured water, snorkelling, great food etc etc. I’m back in Nadi just for tonight to get re-grouped and (somewhat) cleaned and then I’m off again to new places. I will meet up with Rosemarie again in the next couple of days where she is doing her dive course. Then we’ll go back to Suva for a night or so and then we head off together to go see dad and Kate!!!!!!!!!! All for now, I can see my internet credits disappearing quickly. Sorry so brief.

PS I LOVE FIJI.

This will just be a short post because I don’t want to use up all of Rosemarie’s internet and also her computer is so hot I think it could catch on fire at any point.

I’ve been in Suva since I arrived and it’s been lots of fun. Rosemarie has been taking me to all her favourite places. We went to the market, the forest park, the movies, several bars/restaurants, we ate hot dogs, pumpkin curry, kokoda (a Fijian ceviche type thing), plus lots more. I feel like I have sweated about 5 litres of sweat, but luckily it seems like we are never far from water. So far has just been swimming pools and waterfalls (!!) but from tonight onwards I will be steps away from the ocean.

We’re going to a backpacker resort for the weekend with a bunch of international students (27, I heard!) and then after that I will go off on my own for a week in the Yasawas and Mamanucas. I am looking forward to that.

Here are a couple pictures from our excursion to the forest park yesterday. There were tons of nice cool pools to swim in and waterfalls to pummel your shoulders. Fun times!!

Hello future friends. I think this day doesn’t actually exist for me, since I leave Los Angeles on Sunday night and arrive in Fiji on Tuesday morning. Haha. Hoorary for pre-scheduled posts.

I missed a few dinners this time, oops. And my next daily dinners post will most likely be late… But hopefully I have lots of cool Fijian food to show you then.

The funniest meal this time was March 5th, when Scott made a really gross meal consisting of uncooked wet birdseed (millet) and really gross salmon. Maybe I sound really mean right now but he thought is was gross too. We choked down our salmon but everything else went in the trash. Then he made a giant batch of popcorn. Mmmm nutrition.

Favourite Recipe #5: ummm… can I choose the poutine? It was great.

february 24, 2013 – pad thai

feburary 25, 2013 – broccoli soup

february 26, 2013 – cheddar apple bacon bbq quesadilla

more pictures after the jump…

Oh man the last week was hectic. I had to make a thousand lists to stay organized. But here we are, at the airport ready to fly to L.A. for a couple days (then Scott flies home and I head to Fiji for 2.5 weeks!) I managed to finish everything except half of one lab which I guess I’ll finish up when I get home, in April. I am really excited for roller coasters tomorrow and relaxing on the beach next week. I hope I didn’t forget to pack anything! Blog posts will probably be pretty sporadic for the next few weeks but I’ll be back with lots of stories and pictures soon enough.

I am REALLYBUSY right now but I thought I’d just drop in and let you know that I’m still alive post-skeleton and everything.

I was going to post a really gross picture of my friends helmet after he hit his face on the ice but I just changed my mind. I will spare you. Let’s just say it looked exactly how you would think if you got a nosebleed at very high velocity.

He is fine, by the way, he still did a run afterwards. That’s just what might happen if you choose a helmet that is too small so your nose is pressed up against the visor. My nose has plenty of clearance so it won’t happen to me.
