Holy moly, that dumb video of me in the aqualoop has 81,000 views. I’ve made more than $30 from it! Youtube videos are pretty lucrative compared to blogging, at least at the amateur level.

It’s Australia Day today! Well over there it is. Here it is tomorrow. Confusing.

Perhaps it’s finally time for Scott to make choc ripple cake? I’m not sure entirely what it is, but every Aussie I mention it to seems to get pretty excited. Choc ripple biscuits on their own are pretty good…. they’re kind of like the outside of a crunchy fudge sandwich cookie? I just tried to find the ones I’m picturing in my mind but no amount of image searching chocolate and fudge and cookies is bringing up what I want.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to the cake!

Now he has to make it, cuz I blogged about it. Muahahahahha.

School is going really well. I haven’t had that much work yet, which is nice. I’m feeling pretty good about this semester.

Today was my first day of my second semester of school.

It was a relaxed day, although we did get assigned one small piece of homework.

The bad news of the day was that our super awesome physics teacher would not be teaching us this semester. Apparently he is taking a semester off, which is a big bummer, because he is a fantastic teacher and we all learned a lot of complex stuff from him with few problems. Physics is one of our heaviest courses so it’ll be interesting to see how this new guy does. I don’t know if you can beat 20+ years of teaching nuc med at BCIT experience!!

Our new math teacher seemed great though, so that is an improvement!!

It was nice to see all of my classmates again.

The party yesterday was a big success. Everyone from my class came except one guy. I had lots of fun! We talked and laughed and ate and played some drinking games. I think everyone enjoyed themselves. I don’t know how we’ll all survive not seeing each other 30 hours a week!!

I didn’t study at all for math. Instead I made a cake! I love the cake, I think it was awesome. Even though the back collapsed under the weight of its own icing, hahahaha. I had to use a lot of icing to cover up all my mistakes. :D It was purple, green, and pink on the inside.

And I guess someone took some pictures with my camera? Ummmm this was the best shot of them all. Lol.

Oh and I’m pretty sure I aced the math final. Yessssss I love math. Math is in my blood. Study-schmudy.

I also made peppermint Rice Krispie squares. Aka rice krispie squares with smashed up candy cane inside. They were good! We are having soft tacos tonight for dinner because we have lettuce and tomatoes to use up and avocados were only 67 cents this week and I bought two. Guacamole time!

I am 100% on holiday, and it feels so good. Time to get started on some homemade Christmas gifts!

Last weekend we continued the annual tradition of going to see the Senators vs Canucks game with Brian and Morgan. I found the first period extremely boring (no one scored) but it got better and they went into overtime. I was looking forward to seeing a shoot-out in real life but the Canucks scored. :(

As I mentioned yesterday, Rosemarie came over this weekend. We played one game each of all the good games: Carcassonne, Settlers, Agricola and Dominion. Rose lost every game, haha, but she is a good sport.

This post includes no pictures of Scott because he has a hideous Movember mustache and I don’t like to look at him. I will do the right thing though and post his link if you care to donate in support of prostate cancer awareness. http://ca.movember.com/mospace/1695564/

I wrote a ton of midterms in the past couple weeks. I did super well!!!!

Final exams start in 8 days, so I’m supposed to be studying right now but I am having a very hard time focusing!!

Oh, I also water marbled my nails again. :/ Instead of studying for math, haha. But I’m pretty sure I aced that midterm so all is well.

My water marbling tutorial HERE.

Oooops five days no post. Sorry!

This morning we did venipuncture for the first time. SCARY! We watched a demo, then did a few dry runs with a capped syringe, practised on a rubber ‘arm’ thing (that is the exact thing in the picture), and then it was time to do it to each other! We all did pretty well.

Apparently I have DEEP VEINS. And apparently when you get nervous your veins sink even deeper in, but Gillian still got it first try. I kind of jiggled the syringe a bit when I was undoing the tourniquet on her so a little drop of blood came out. I’m sorry!!

Anyway in general it was easier than I expected. I thought it would be easier to miss the vein.

Would you be more scared to poke someone else or have someone poke you?
