Countdown to the CAMRT certification exam: 14 days

My goals for the next 2 weeks:

  • study a lot
  • eat a real breakfast and lunch every day
  • prepare good meals for dinner every day
  • do lots of exercise (5x/week) – gym/swimming/HIIT/yoga?
  • drink lots of water
  • save $$ and bus tickets by walking/biking
  • paint my nails while I can!

And beyond:

  • get a job of some sort (hopefully NM!!)
  • start doing art projects again
  • play more board games
  • meet new friends

I do have some fun stuff to talk about too….

Scott and I are meeting Rosemarie in Hawaii in November. Natasha is coming too! We’ve booked a little cottage near Kailua Beach and it’s going to be such a fun trip. I am really looking forward to that. Also it means Rosemarie is on her way home so that’s awesome.

We went out for a nice dinner at Miku last night. We tried their fancy seared pressed sushi and stuff and drank fancy cocktails. It was nice but really expensive for what you get. I’ll post pictures in my next daily dinners post.

Now that I’m done school and unemployed I have lots of time to do stuff like go to the gym and do crafts. I’ve got a whole bunch of little projects in mind to start on soon. I can paint my nails again too!!

Lesley and Vipi came over the other night to celebrate being done the program. We drank and ate cheezies and played two games of Ticket To Ride. :)

Skeleton tryouts are next Saturday. Unfortunately for me they changed the testing protocol to mostly sprints so my performance is probably going to be highly embarrassing, but I think I’m still going to give it a go. Scott reminded me that not anyone can say they’ve even tried out for a provincial team, which was quite convincing.

I finished the nuclear medicine program. I am now officially on an indefinite long weekend.

Only two people have gotten jobs so far… one ten hours away from Vancouver, and one who went to the same hospital both summers. No sign of any jobs for the rest of us yet.

It really is a terrible time right now. We’re all supposed to just study hard for our certification exam and keep calling around and waiting for the dust to settle from the major scheduling changes the departments were forced into making starting after this weekend.

I have no idea what is going to happen and to be honest it is very depressing. It doesn’t help that my good friend is moving away this weekend as well.

Fingers crossed that things just end up working out… but it sounds like I am going to have to wait a few more weeks to find anything out.

We went to the PNE yesterday evening. Scott’s work put on a BBQ, although I didn’t eat much there because it was just regular BBQ stuff. Later I ate deep fried macaroni and cheese balls (picture in tomorrow’s daily dinner post). We went on the Tilt-a-Whirl (my favourite carnival ride). We walked through the exhibition area and tried all the massage chairs.

Then we went to the Sam Robert’s concert. While there I realized that the last time I saw him perform was TEN YEARS AGO at my frosh week at Dalhousie, haha. It was a good show, like ten years ago.

It’s weird that Playland isn’t open late at all during the rest of the summer. Atmosfear looks so cool at night! All carnival rides are cooler in the dark with all the lights on!
